Ilhan Omar is the Assistant Minority Leader of the Minnesota Legislature and a non-profit leader. In 2016, Ihan became the first Somali-American Muslim legislator in the United States. Today she serves her constituents on the committees of Civic Law and Data Practices Policy, Higher Education and Career Readiness Policy and Finance, and State Government Finance. Ihan also serves as the Director of Policy at Women Organizing Women, where she works to empower second-generation immigrants to become engaged citizens and community leaders.
Ilhan knows that unlimited and unregulated spending in our elections puts power in the hands of corporations while stripping power away from voters. Ilhan is proving her commitment to reform by rejecting all corporate PAC money in her campaign.
