Before dedicating his life to public service, Angus worked as a lawyer, as a Maine public television host, and as the founder of a New England Energy company. Since 2012 Angus has proudly represented the State of Maine in the U.S. Senate. Among the many causes Angus fights for is campaign finance reform; he supported both the 2014 and 2015 DISCLOSE Acts that sought to increase transparency in election spending. As an independent member of Congress, Angus understands that overturning the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision should not just be a Democratic cause or a Republican cause — it should be an American cause.
