Ann Kirkpatrick was born and raised in the White Mountains of rural Arizona. After moving to Tuscon for college and law school, Ann worked as a law clerk and county attorney in Pima County, Arizona. In November 2004, she was elected to the first of two terms in Arizona’s House of Representatives. As a state representative, Ann worked with Governor Janet Napolitano to improve Arizona’s K-12 schools. In 2008, Ann was elected to her first term in Congress, where she served for two more terms.
Ann has seen the ways in which the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision in Citizens United allowed for a blizzard of corporate cash to blanket Washington and eroded everyday Americans’ trust in our democracy. Ann will return to Washington to boot out the special interests, and give government back to its true owners: the American people.
