Dan Feehan was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and grew up in Red Wing as a constituent of Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District. From an early age, he was inspired by the public service of his parents and the election of the late Paul Wellstone, and he knew that he wanted to follow their example of serving the community. Soon after the 9/11 attacks, Dan committed himself to military service, signing up to protect the nation’s security with the Army ROTC. From 2005 through 2009, Dan served as an active duty soldier and completed two combat tours of duty as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In Iraq, he searched for roadside bombs and pursued those threatening Americans and Iraqis alike, earning the Bronze Star for Service, the Army Commendation Medal with Valor, and the Ranger Tab.
Dan understands that Washington is ignoring the needs of everyday Minnesotans because mega-donors and corporate special interests have outsized influence. In Congress, he’ll fight to get Big Money out of politics and restore the voices of Minnesota families who have been shut out. Dan will fight to reform the rigged system, ensuring every American has a voice in our democracy.
