Dan Kildee

Candidate for Michigan's 5th Congressional District

As a Michigan native who was born and raised in Flint, Dan is proud to represent his home state’s 5th Congressional District. Dan serves on the House Financial Services Committee and as a Regional Whip. He has worked for his community by promoting American manufacturing, fighting for a higher minimum wage, and securing funds to stop Flint’s water crisis. Dan also supports his community in his fight for campaign finance reform; he believes that all Americans should have a voice in politics, not just millionaires and billionaires. In 2016 Dan introduced an amendment to a House bill that would increase transparency in campaign contributions. Dan understands the harm that the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision has done to our democracy, and he is an important leader in the fight to get big money out of politics.
