Joaquin Castro

Candidate for Texas's 20th Congressional District

Joaquin was born in San Antonio to first generation Mexican American parents. Influenced by his family’s involvement in political movements and civic causes, Joaquin decided to dedicate his life to serving his community. In 2012 he was elected to represent Texas’s 20th Congressional District, and ever since he has been a leader in the fight for campaign finance reform. Joaquin understands the destructive nature of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. He believes that the government should represent all Americans, not just those wealthy enough to afford representation.
