Before representing the State of Indiana in the U.S. Senate, Joe helped run a small business in Mishawaka and practiced law in South Bend. He has deep roots in the state and still lives there to this day with his wife and two children. Joe believes that the government should work for people rather than just corporations, and has advocated for campaign finance reform to fix our broken system. In his own words, the huge amount of money in politics is “obscuring and overshadowing what should matter most in elections”. Joe is a leader in the fight to overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.
