Congresswoman Lois Frankel has spent her lifetime working as a civic leader, delivering positive change to her community. Prior to running for Congress, Lois was a trailblazer in the Florida State Legislature where she was the first woman Democratic minority leader. In this role, she was a leading force to improve the economic conditions of families and seniors as well as protecting human rights and women’s reproductive freedom. Lois also served her city as Mayor of West Palm Beach. Today, she serves Florida’s 21st Congressional District on the House Transportation and Infrastructure and Foreign Affairs Committees.
Lois knows that Big Money has corrupted politicians and stripped power away from where it belongs: in the hands of Florida families, which is why she fights for meaningful campaign finance reform in Congress and is an original co-sponsor of both the Government by the People Act and the Democracy for All amendment to overturn Citizens United.
