Lucy McBath is a businesswoman and social justice activist. Lucy’s passion for public service was awakened by her family’s tragedy in 2012 when her son, Jordan Davis was shot and killed at a gas station by a man objecting to the music he was playing in his car. Today, Lucy holds dual roles as the national spokesperson for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. Her work includes testifying in state capitols and speaking with lawmakers, activists, universities and community organizers across the county. In Washington, she has testified before the US Senate Judiciary Committee, and spoke at the White House Summit on Educational Excellence for African Americans.
Lucy knows that Washington rigged system is leaving behind Georgia families. As a member of Congress, Lucy will fight for campaign finance reform to ensure that the voices of her constituents are not silenced by special interest money.
