MJ Hegar

Candidate for Texas' 31st Congressional District

Born and raised in Texas’ 31st Congressional District, MJ grew up in Leander/Cedar Park, graduated from Leander High School, and then attended The University of Texas at Austin. MJ served in the Air Force, where she completed three tours in Afghanistan as a search-and-rescue pilot. On her third tour in Afghanistan, she was shot down on a Medevac mission and sustained wounds that resulted in her being awarded the Purple Heart as well as the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor Device. MJ believes the unlimited and undisclosed money in politics as one of the biggest threats to our country, which is why she’s rejecting corporate special interest money in her campaign.
