Nanette lives in San Pedro and represents California’s 44th district. Nanette has always stood for people over corporations, going back to her time as a local councilwoman speaking out against an oil company that wanted to drill oil and water injection wells in Hermosa Beach. Nanette has long been a champion for racial and social justice issues, previously working for the NAACP and helping the Los Angeles Legal Aid Foundation while she was at USC Law School. Nanette took office in 2017 and is a member of the Progressive Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
