For the past year, End Citizens United has been sounding the alarm on how foreign governments could secretly try to buy U.S. elections [The Denver PostHacking isn’t the greatest Russia threat to the U.S. elections]. Today, on the heels of the introduction of the Honest Ads Act, the reform group released a foreign money how-to guide showing the many ways foreign powers are able to exploit loopholes in our campaign finance system.

The infographic is part of a larger focus by the organization on the issue of foreign spending. In the spring, ECU along with Every Voice launched “Independent Investigation Now” into Russian attempts to rig the election, endorsed Rep. Raskin’s ‘Get Foreign Money Out of U.S. Elections’ Act and ran digital ads in eight house districts in support of the bill. Last week, ECU joined 26 reform groups and experts to endorse the Honest Ads Act and announced a petition drive in support of the bill.
