Following the Supreme Court’s ruling on Crossroads GPS v. CREW that requires disclosure for dark money, End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller released the following statement calling on the FEC to act quickly and clearly:
“The Supreme Court’s ruling in Crossroads v. CREW was a triumphant moment that can lead to increased transparency and accountability in our democracy. Americans deserve to know who is behind the curtain seeking to secretly – but undoubtedly – influence our elections. For too long, dark money groups and their funders, operating under the guise of ‘social welfare,’ have abused the system for their political and financial gain.”
“Now the FEC must finish the job and make clear, unambiguous rules, so we can close loopholes and prevent these groups from finding new ways to conceal their political money.”
