End Citizens United is launching a new ad in Pennsylvania today calling out Senator Pat Toomey for choosing to stand with the super-rich and corporate special interests instead of middle class Pennsylvanians.
Senator Toomey has consistently voted to protect tax cuts for millionaires and Big Oil, and he’s voted against priorities for Pennsylvania families such as pre-school. He’s aligned himself with the Koch brothers, who are spending millions to support his campaign, voting for their agenda 96 percent of the time. And he’s repeatedly voted to help keep money that the Kochs and other billionaires are spending (to support campaigns like his) secret, making it harder for everyday Pennsylvanians to learn who is trying to influence them.
“Pat Toomey is making the wrong choices for Pennsylvania families,” said Tiffany Muller, End Citizens United Executive Director. “The out of touch senator has chosen to protect the agenda of his special interest allies, at the expense of working Pennsylvanians. He’s gone so far as to vote to keep much of their campaign donations – which supports his own campaign – hidden from the public.”
The $1.1 million ad buy includes broadcast and cable on television as well as digital. It will air in the Pittsburgh, Harrisburg-Lancaster, and Wilkes Barre markets from August 23 – September 5.
