Restoration PAC

Restoration PAC is a conservative Super PAC that has thus far focused on supporting the re-election campaign of Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI). The group was founded by former Illinois Senate candidate Doug Truax.[1] The group is almost exclusively funded by shipping magnate Richard Uihlein, who has contributed $1.8 million of the group’s $1.92 million in receipts.[2]

Restoration PAC launched an ad praising Johnson for his opposition to the Iran deal in July 2015. The ad contained a doctored image of President Obama, which the PAC later removed.[3] Per the Wisconsin State Journal, a spokesman for the group “said the image was widely circulated on the Internet, so the organization didn’t realize it was forged.”[4]

As of March 31, 2016, the group has $154,125 on hand.[5]
