Stop The Steal

Stop The Steal is a pro-Donald Trump 527 group founded by Roger Stone, who also runs “The Committee to Restore America’s Greatness” Super PAC. Stop The Steal’s site warns that the Republican National Convention may deny Trump the nomination, asserting that “anti-Trump quislings are being planted in various delegations that will be free to betray Trump, regardless of the will of the voters. This is the BIG STEAL.”[1] The site claimed that Trump supporters would launch a rally to convince delegates to abide by the will of Republican voters; after Trump’s rivals dropped out, Stone said that the rally would become a unity rally.[2]

Stone announced that the group would raise $262,000 to pay for Trump supporters to come to Cleveland.[3] However, he later told Politico that he had raised just $40,000 as of May 16.[4]

The group has not yet filed any financial disclosures with the IRS.
