A veteran, teacher, and leader for Southern Minnesota
Dan Feehan is a fifth generation Minnesotan, a veteran, a teacher, and former acting Assistant Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. From 2005 to 2009, he served as an active duty soldier in the U.S. Army, and completed two combat tours in Iraq. Upon returning from his service, he spent four years as a teacher, including two years as a middle school math teacher in Gary, Indiana.
Dan will take on special interests in Washington
Dan’s life has been characterized by the values of public service, and he will carry those values to Congress as he takes on the corporate special interests. He knows that when the influence of money in our politics is greater than the influence of people, the system will be rigged against everyday Minnesotans. That’s why Dan is rejecting all corporate PAC money, and why he will be a relentless fighter against the corrupting influence of money in politics.
A top-targeted district to flip in 2020
In 2018, this race was one of the closest in the country –– Dan lost by less than 2,000 votes to Republican insider Jim Hagedorn. Hagedorn has shown that he is in the pocket of special interests and is out of step with his district; he was named to ECU’s “Big Money 20”, a list of incumbents who represent the worst of the worst of Washington. Hagedorn earned his place on this list for selling out to Big Oil, taking over $100,000 from corporate PACs, and routinely siding with wealthy corporations over the people in his district.
