Ruben Gallego

Candidate for Arizona's 7th Congressional District

Ruben is the son of Hispanic immigrants, a veteran, and a community leader. He was the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Harvard University with a degree in International Relations. He later joined the Marine Corps, serving in Iraq with the well-known combat unit Lima 3/25. Ruben was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2010, and served until 2014.

In 2015 Ruben swore to represent Arizona’s 7th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Natural Resources Committee, and as a Senior Whip for the Democratic Caucus. Among other initiatives, Ruben helped lead the effort to strengthen and restore the Voting Rights Act in order to ensure that all Americans have access to the ballot box. He has proved himself to be an effective and capable leader, dedicated to serving the Americans he represents–and not the interests of Big Business. Ruben is an essential voice in our struggle to cleanse our political system of dirty money, and get government working for the people once again.
