Steven Horsford

Candidate for Nevada's 4th Congressional District

Steven Horsford was first elected in Nevada state senate in 2000 and served as the first African American State Senate Majority Leader. In this position, he took on big polluters to pass the “Clean Energy Jobs Initiative,”, making Nevada a leader in renewable energy. Steven also served as the U.S. Representative for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District from 2013 to 2015. Prior to his service in Congress, Steven led the Culinary Academy and Nevada Partners, the largest job training program in the state, helping thousands of workers start quality careers in hospitality, healthcare, and technology.

Steven is committed to curbing the influence that Big Money special interests have on our elections and leveling the playing field for Nevada families. In Congress, he will fight to increase transparency in government and push for meaningful campaign finance reform.
