An active community leader
Adair Boroughs grew up in a double-wide trailer in Williston, a small town in South Carolina’s Second Congressional District. Her mom was a public school teacher and her dad was a cabinet maker. Adair taught math in South Carolina public schools, and after graduating with honors from Stanford Law School, worked in the US Department of Justice and launched a nonprofit law firm that provides affordable legal services to those in need.
Putting South Carolinians over corporate special interests
An opportunity to flip a district that is trending Democratic
Though South Carolina’s Second Congressional District is historically Republican, it is trending bluer in recent years. Boroughs outraised incumbent Republican Joe Wilson –– who yelled during Obama’s 2009 State of the Union –– in their first two quarters. End Citizens United is proud to endorse Adair and work to flip this seat.
