End Citizens United (ECU) // Let America Vote (LAV) today endorsed Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester for the U.S. Senate in Delaware.
“Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester has a proven track record of championing democracy reforms that will give a voice to Delawareans,” said Chintan Patel, ECU // LAV Vice President of Political. “She understands that the concerns of Delaware families are too often drowned out by wealthy special interests that buy access and influence in the halls of Congress, which is why she’s fighting to change the way Washington works. We’re excited to endorse Congresswoman Blunt Rochester and look forward to helping her win.”
“I am proud and excited to have the endorsement of ECU. For too long wealthy interest groups have had entirely too much influence in D.C. This influence hurts our democracy and makes it harder for Delawareans—and all Americans—to trust their own government. I look forward to working with them to get big money out of politics,” said Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester.
Representative Blunt Rochester has been a leader in the House on protecting the freedom to vote and ending the influence of Big Money. She has supported a number of democracy reform bills, including the Freedom to Vote Act, the DISCLOSE Act, and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Representative Blunt Rochester earned an “A” on ECU // LAV’s 2022 legislative scorecard, a testament to her strong commitment to pro-democracy legislation.
ECU // LAV is dedicated to combating the two biggest challenges facing our democracy: the corrosive impact of Big Money and attempts to block access to the ballot box. Since its founding in 2015, the group has had over 1 million donors and raised $200 million, with an average donation of just $14. The group has more than 4 million members nationwide.
