VOTER OUTREACH. Two progressive grassroots groups will announce Thursday a $1.1 million program to encourage Democratic-leaning voters in five states, including New Hampshire, to register and vote on Nov. 3.

Joining in the effort are BradyPAC, the sister organization of Brady, the nation’s oldest? gun violence prevention advocacy group, and Let America Vote, voting rights group familiar to many Granite Staters.

The groups said their digital voter education campaign will target 22,000 voters in the Granite State, as well as Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Texas.

The groups said they are targeting those who are less likely to cast ballots – known as low-propensity voters. The targeted voters will include “key demographics, such as African-American, Asian-American and Latinx voters in the Granite State.

The outreach, including digital ads, “was designed to give voters all the information they need to vote this November, including details on new COVID-related voting procedures, times, and important dates,” according to a spokesperson.

“It also highlights the range of voting options available in the state, information on how to request an absentee ballot, and information on in-person voting locations.”

“The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the way Americans will vote this fall and underscored the importance of providing voters with critical information on changing procedures and guidelines,” said Tiffany Muller, president of Let America Vote .

“At the same time, Donald Trump and the Republican party have relentlessly spewed lies and falsehoods about the safety and security of voting-by-mail in a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise voters. It’s more important than ever that we debunk these lies and empower voters with the information they need to make their voice heard in November.”

“Access to the ballot is one of the most fundamental necessities in a functioning democracy,” added Brady PAC Executive Director Brian Lemek. “It’s why concerted efforts to deny that right, or access to it, through disinformation and outright suppression cannot go unchecked. If we are to truly elect a representative body that is by and for the people, it is critical that the people have access to needed information about voting in their states. We cannot let these lies stand uncorrected.”
