(Dallas Morning News) During his successful campaign for Congress last year, New York Republican George Santos joined forces with Rep. Beth Van Duyne, R-Irving, in a bid to drum up donations. Together they raised a modest $11,600 — at least according to a report filed by Santos campaign treasurer Nancy Marks, who also handled finances for the Santos-Van Duyne collaboration. Van Duyne never reported any proceeds from the joint effort because, an aide said, no money reached her… His myriad controversies have prompted calls for Republicans who received donations from his political action committee — GADS PAC, an acronym from his full name — to give the funds to charity. “Keeping the money or returning it to Santos would be an endorsement of his deception and corruption,” the group End Citizens United wrote in a letter to politicians who accepted the donations.
