With just weeks to go until Election Day, we’re highlighting some of the biggest Republican scandals from this election cycle.
Kansans and Kris Kobach may have started out as friends, but it was all pretend.
Kobach spent his two terms as Secretary of State surrounding himself with partisan dark money special interests and working to enact a partisan agenda. He was such a corrupt secretary of state that the Republican-controlled Kansas legislature even had to intervene and pass legislation to ban him from having a PAC so he would stop interfering with the very elections he was supposed to be overseeing.
Now he’s running for attorney general because he has a hard time letting go and continues to shop around for a political office. This is the 6th time he’s run for something—someone has to tell him there’s a reason Kansans keep breaking up with him.
He had his chance, he blew it, and Kansans made that clear when they elected Laura Kelly instead of Kris Kobach for governor in 2018. And now that he’s been out of sight and out of mind for two years, Kansans can breathe for the first time.
Thankfully, Kansas voters have the opportunity this fall to reject Kobach once again and elect Chris Mann, who will put public safety and the rule of law ahead of partisan politics.
This is why we’re dedicating “Since U Been Gone,” by the indomitable Kelly Clarkson to Kris Kobach, Republican candidate for Kansas attorney general.
