This is the result of a coordinated $1.1 billion, billionaire-backed, dark money effort to capture the courts and take away reproductive freedom.
Now, Republican Senate candidates like Adam Laxalt are running to enact draconian restrictions that would criminalize doctors for providing safe medical services, punish people for having abortions in their home states, including banning it even in cases of rape, incest, and if the life of the person is in danger. Adam Laxalt has dedicated his career to undercutting reproductive freedom. Laxalt called the Court’s draft decision a “historic victory.” As Nevada’s attorney general, Laxalt signed onto multiple legal efforts to roll back abortion access.
The stakes of the 2022 elections could not be higher. Voters in Nevada have a clear choice between an extremist in Adam Laxalt, who wants the government to make healthcare decisions for people in Nevada, and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, who will protect reproductive health care and ensure that every person in Nevada has the freedom to make their own medical decisions.
