After Tonight’s Win, Landsman is in Position to Defeat Chabot, One of Washington’s Most Corrupt Politicians

May 03, 2022

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the results of the OH-01 primary:

“Congratulations to Councilman Landsman on his victory in the OH-01 primary tonight. Throughout his time on the Cincinnati City Council, Landsman has been a champion of making government transparent and accountable, so elected representatives work for the people they represent, not their wealthy backers, or themselves. On the City Council, Landsman worked with both Democrats and Republicans to create Cincinnati’s first ever Office of Ethics and Good Government. In Congress, he’ll continue to fight for the people of Cincinnati, by supporting legislation that would protect the freedom to vote, stop extreme partisan gerrymandering that denies voters fair and equal representation, end dark money by making all political donations public, and limit the power of Washington lobbyists.

“Landsman is running against one of Washington’s most self-serving, corrupt politicians: Congressman Steve Chabot. While Landsman is not taking a single cent from corporate PACs, Chabot has taken over $3 million of corporate money, including $150,000 from Big Pharma, $250,000 from Big Oil, and over $1 million from the insurance industry. To reward his corporate donors for their investment, Chabot has consistently opposed efforts to lower the cost of prescription drugs, putting more money in his donor’s pockets instead of hard-working Ohio families.

“This race will be a clear choice between more of the same in Washington or having someone fighting everyday for the interests of working Ohioans.”
