Ahead of Committee Vote, End Citizens United // Let America Vote Calls for the Senate Judiciary Committee to Advance Judge Jackson’s Nomination

Apr 04, 2022

End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund President Tiffany Muller released the following statement ahead of today’s Senate Judiciary Committee vote on advancing the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court:

“Today is a historic day as the Senate Judiciary Committee votes on the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court. As she showed during her confirmation hearings, she has the wisdom, temperament, and perseverance necessary of a Supreme Court justice. She is well-qualified, something even Senator McConnell agrees with.

“We urge all members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to support her nomination today. Judge Jackson will be a justice who protects the rights of all Americans, not just wealthy, corporate special interests. From protecting the freedom to vote, to protecting women’s reproductive rights, to protecting our elections from corruption, Judge Jackson will be a justice who proves that our court system can and must work for the people.”
