President Biden is right to make democracy a central element of his campaign not only because protecting the rights and freedoms of all Americans is the right policy and foundation to ensuring our system works for everyone, but also because it is top of mind for voters.
In the 2022 midterms, voters rejected MAGA Republicans’ attacks on democracy, from the January 6 insurrection and election denialism to taking away fundamental freedoms like reproductive rights. These issues are still top of mind for voters today.
