Kevin McCarthy has made protecting corruption the GOP winning strategy. That’s why the caucus he leads opposed the For the People Act (H.R. 1), the most sweeping ethics reform bill in a generation, and the Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4).
McCarthy has also dismissed concerns about government spending at Trump properties, even though he patronized them himself. He also called the push for vote-by-mail amid a global pandemic where Americans are having to choose between their health and right to vote as “disgusting.”
When it comes to party leadership, Republicans really know how to pick ‘em.
