End Citizens United (ECU) today filed an amended FEC complaint against Congressman George Santos for further lies and discrepancies in his amended FEC filings.
On January 9, 2023, End Citizens United filed an FEC complaint alleging that Santos may have funded the more than $700,000 in loans he made to his campaign using a shell company to disguise the true sources of the contributions.
On January 24, 2023, Santos filed an amended FEC filing, admitting that $500,000 of the money he loaned his campaign did not come from him, validating ECU’s original complaint. The updated complaint alleges that the $705,000 still came from an illegal source, whether from a company Santos purportedly owned, or from a shell company, since he admitted that most of that money did not come from himself.
