ECU endorsed AG Nessel in 2021 as part of its first ever Democracy Defenders program because of her commitment to taking on Big Money special interests and fighting to uphold the will of the people. While in office, AG Nessel has taken on special interests like Big Pharma and fought back against election deniers trying to undermine Michigan’s democracy. Earlier this year, ECU President Tiffany Muller and AG Nessel held a press call where she pushed back against dangerous election conspiracies and promised to hold corrupt politicians accountable for spreading misinformation. Muller and Nessel also campaigned together in late August, firing up voters in Grand Rapids. In the final weeks of the election, ECU ran digital ads and sent mailers highlighting Matt DePerno’s corruption and extremism and encouraging voters to hear DePerno’s extremism in his own words at www.mattdeperno.com. ECU had a total impact of over $325,000 in support of AG Nessel’s re-election.
