End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund launched $700,000 in additional campaign ads in Nevada today thanking Senator Catherine Cortez Masto for supporting a compromise voting rights and anti-corruption bill–the Freedom to Vote Act. This legislation protects the freedom to vote for all Americans, secures the ballot box, stops partisan gerrymandering, and ends dark money so that billionaires can’t buy elections. The bill also protects against efforts to sabotage our elections, including protecting election officials from harassment and preventing voter intimidation.
The $700,000 in Nevada ads are part of a $5.8 million campaign alongside ads in Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, West Virginia, and nationally that will air on local broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms. The ad campaign in Nevada also includes digital ads on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Google. The ads are part of ECU // LAV’s joint $30 million campaign with the National Democratic Redistricting Committee to pass a federal voting rights and anti-corruption bill.
“Voters in both parties believe we should protect the freedom to vote, end dark money, protect our elections from sabotage, and stop partisan gerrymandering, so that every American can have their voice and vote heard,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund President Tiffany Muller. “We applaud Senator Cortez Masto for supporting this common-sense compromise that will restore faith in our elections and urge the Senate to do whatever it takes to pass his bill as quickly as possible.”
Full Script of “Nevada Freedom”:
Freedom.
Our way of life here in Nevada.
And has to be the way we hold elections, too.
Exactly why – now, more than ever – Senator Catherine Cortez Masto supports the Freedom to Vote Act.
Combining ideas from both Republicans and Democrats.
To secure our elections.
Finally ban dark money.
And stop partisan gerrymandering.
Because Senator Catherine Cortez Masto knows.
Cherishing our freedom is what makes us Nevada.
