“Today we honor the selfless service of veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. Safeguarding democracy would not be achievable without the brave sacrifices of our veterans and their families.
“At a time when attempts to subvert our democracy are becoming more prolific, we are grateful for those who put their lives on the line to defend it. We also commit ourselves to continue our work to build a more perfect union to ensure that our democracy truly works for all of us.”
