End Citizens United // Let America Vote Action Fund President Tiffany Muller issued the below statement following Leader Hoyer’s announcement that the For the People Act (H.R. 1) will be taken up by the House during the week of March 1:
“Americans know Washington is broken, people are doubting elections, a mob stormed the U.S. Capitol, and corporate special interests have too much power and influence. In this defining moment, we must protect and restore our democracy. Democrats won and held the majority on a common sense platform to reduce the influence of money in politics, crackdown on corruption in both parties, and protect voting rights. These reforms will make Washington work for everyone.
