End Citizens United Action Fund President Tiffany Muller released the following statement in support of the Clean Campaign Act of 2019 (HR19-1318) and Campaign Finance Enforcement (SB19-232) in the Colorado State Legislature:
“Coloradans have a right to know who is trying to influence their elections. This package of pro-democracy and anti-corruption reforms would put an end to the disproportionate power that special interests and mega-donors have in the state — and it would restore Coloradans’ faith in their government. End Citizens United thanks Secretary of State Jena Griswold for her leadership on this issue, and we urge the state Legislature and the Governor to pass these reforms into law.”
The Clean Campaign Act of 2019 (HR19-1318) and Campaign Finance Enforcement (SB19-232):
- Bans Foreign Money in Colorado’s Elections
- Requires Disclosure For Dark Money
- Limits Coordination
- Re-authorizes Small-Scale Issue Committees
- Enforces Campaign Finance Laws
End Citizens United Action Fund, an arm of the campaign finance reform group, encourages ECU’s four million members to call their elected officials, host petition drives, participate in letter to the editor campaigns, and join coalitions of other grassroots advocacy groups to pass legislation to help get big money out of politics.
