“Senate Republicans’ vote to confirm Trey Trainor to the FEC flies in the face of the FEC’s bipartisan history and is a blow to our democracy. Trainor, who has been described as a ‘mega advocate’ for deregulating campaign finance laws and dark money, will only work to protect an already broken system that empowers billionaires and corporate special interests. Trainor’s confirmation means Big Money has yet another voice on the FEC.”
