Harder rejects corporate PAC money and led the charge to pass the For the People Act, a once-in-a-generation reform bill
End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement congratulating Congressman Josh Harder on winning the General Election in California’s 10th Congressional District:
“Congratulations to Congressman Josh Harder on winning his re-election campaign. Congressman Harder has prioritized democracy reform in Congress, and as part of the reform-focused freshman class of 2018 was at the forefront of getting the For the People Act, the most sweeping anti-corruption, voting rights and ethics reform bill in a generation, passed through the House. He always puts the needs of California families first because he doesn’t accept corporate PAC money and isn’t beholden to their agendas. Californians are lucky to have Congressman Harder’s reform-focused leadership representing them in Washington. Congressman Harder is ready to continue the incredible work he’s done for the people of California in the fight against corruption, and we’re thrilled to work alongside him.”
ECU and LAV endorsed Josh Harder for re-election in March 2019 as part of the group’s first round of House incumbent endorsements because of his commitment to unrig the broken system in Washington. ECU raised and donated more than $97,000 in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members this cycle to Harder’s campaign. Harder, who ran on a platform of reform in both 2018 and 2020, rejects corporate PAC money and showed leadership in the passage of the For the People Act (H.R.1). The reform group has four million members nationwide, including over 5,000 in CA-10, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
