Nov 06, 2020

Bourdeaux rejects corporate PAC money

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on Carolyn Bourdeaux’s win in GA-07:

“Congratulations to Congresswoman-elect Carolyn Bourdeaux on her win. Carolyn won without taking a dime of corporate PAC money, proving that a grassroots, reform-focused campaign can overcome Big Money special interests. In Congress, she will continue to fight for Georgians and for a system that works for everyone––not just those with the deepest pockets. We look forward to Carolyn’s leadership on getting Big Money out of politics and protecting the right to vote.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Bourdeaux in May 2020 because of her commitment to getting Big Money out of politics and fixing the rigged system in Washington. ECU had a total impact of over $33,300 in small dollar grassroots contributions on this race. ECU hosted a virtual campaign event discussing her commitment to taking on the corruption in Washington and passing reforms to end the influence of Big Money and protect the right to vote. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including over 4,200 in GA-07, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
