End Citizens United and Let America Vote Congratulate Congresswoman Susan Wild on General Election Victory in PA-07

Nov 05, 2020

Wild rejects corporate PAC money and led the charge to pass the For the People Act, a once-in-a-generation reform bill

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement congratulating Congresswoman Susan Wild on winning the General Election in Pennsylvania’s Seventh Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Congresswoman Susan Wild. Susan was part of the reform-focused freshman class of 2018 that prioritized anti-corruption and democracy reforms. She led the way on passing the For the People Act, the most sweeping anti-corruption, ethics, and voting rights bill in a generation, and has made standing up to corporate special interests and the corrupt status quo a priority since stepping foot on Capitol Hill. In her race for re-election, Wild regularly highlighted her pledge to reject corporate PAC money and strong record of passing reform legislation on the campaign trail. Her commitment to rooting out corruption proved to Pennsylvanians that she’s fighting for them in Congress. We’re proud to support Congresswoman Wild and look forward to watching her build on this progress in her next term.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Susan Wild for re-election in March 2019 as part of the group’s first round of House incumbent endorsements because of her commitment to unrig the broken system in Washington. ECU raised and donated more than $112,000 in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members this cycle to Wild’s campaign and hosted a virtual campaign event discussing her commitment to taking on the corruption in Washington and passing reforms to end the influence of Big Money and protect the right to vote. Wild, who ran on a platform of reform in both 2018 and 2020, rejects corporate PAC money and showed leadership in the passage of the For the People Act (H.R.1). The reform group has four million members nationwide, including 7,400 in PA-07, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
