End Citizens United and Let America Vote Congratulate Jon Ossoff on Winning Georgia Runoff Election

Jan 06, 2021

Ossoff made anti-corruption messaging the cornerstone of his campaign and rejects donations from corporate PACs and federal lobbyists

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement congratulating Jon Ossoff on winning Georgia’s runoff election:

“Congratulations to Jon Ossoff on his victory in Georgia. In one of the most competitive and consequential races of the 2020 cycle, he ran a campaign focused on fighting corruption and giving a voice to every Georgian who has felt left out or let down by Washington corruption. We look forward to working with Jon to continue his fight against corruption and are thrilled to add another Senator to the Democratic caucus who rejects donations from corporate PACs. Big Money and corporate special interests should not control our government and Jon will fight to make sure our government works for regular people.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Jon Ossoff in March 2020 because of his commitment to getting Big Money out of politics and fixing the rigged system in Washington so the government works for all Americans. ECU had a total impact of over $1,315,600 in this race. That includes both raising and donating over $715,600 in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members this cycle to Ossoff’s campaign, and a $400,000 broadcast, streaming, and cable TV ad campaign, a $75,000 digital campaign, and a $125,000 direct mail campaign. ECU and LAV also hosted three virtual campaign events discussing his commitment to taking on the corruption in Washington and passing reforms to end the influence of Big Money and protect the right to vote. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including over 75,000 in Georgia, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
