End Citizens United and Let America Vote Congratulate Reverend Raphael Warnock on Advancing to Runoff in Georgia Special Election Senate Race

Nov 03, 2020

Warnock has made anti-corruption, voting rights and ethics reforms a cornerstone of his campaign by rejecting corporate PAC donations

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement congratulating Reverend Raphael Warnock on advancing to the runoff in Georgia’s special election Senate race:

“Congratulations to Reverend Raphael Warnock for advancing to Georgia’s runoff election. His message has consistently struck a chord with Georgia voters in both parties and will lead him to victory come January. Reverend Warnock knows that true democracy can only be achieved when every voice is heard and when every vote is counted. Expanding voting rights has been the fight of his career, following in the footsteps of his mentor, the late civil rights champion Congressman John Lewis. Reverend Warnock will honor Lewis’ legacy in the Senate by protecting and expanding Georgians’ right to vote and participate in our democracy. Reverend Warnock is running a reform-focused campaign by prioritizing voting rights and democracy reforms. As a result, he has energized grassroots supporters across the state without taking a dime of corporate PAC money. Meanwhile, Senator Kelly Loeffler embodies the worst of Washington’s corruption. We’re proud to support Reverend Warnock as he heads into the runoff election, and we look forward to supporting him to victory in January.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Raphael Warnock in March 2020 because of his commitment to getting Big Money out of politics and fixing the rigged system in Washington so the government works for all Americans. ECU raised and donated more than $148,300 in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members this cycle to Warnock’s campaign and hosted two virtual campaign events discussing his commitment to taking on corruption in Washington and passing reforms to end the influence of Big Money and protect the right to vote. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including 75,000 in Georgia, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
