End Citizens United and Let America Vote Congratulate Speaker Nancy Pelosi on General Election Win in CA-12

Nov 03, 2020

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on news that Speaker Nancy Pelosi won the General Election in CA-12:

“Congratulations to Speaker Nancy Pelosi on her re-election victory and holding the Democratic majority in the U.S. House. Speaker Pelosi’s leadership has been instrumental in the fight to strengthen our democracy on behalf of the American people and build a government that works for everyone, not just political donors and corporate special interests. She led the Democratic caucus in the passage of the For the People Act, the biggest anti-corruption, voting rights and ethics reform bill in a generation in addition to legislation that takes on big special interests to reduce gun violence, tackle climate change, lower the cost of prescription drugs and protect women’s rights, workers rights, and civil rights.

“The Speaker has remained laser-focused on passing legislation to provide relief amid a global pandemic while Republicans have turned a blind eye. In the 117th Congress, Speaker Pelosi has committed to making the passage of anti-corruption and government reform legislation the first priority. We’re incredibly grateful for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s leadership, and we’re thrilled to continue supporting her in the fight against corruption.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Speaker Nancy Pelosi for re-election in January 2020 because of her leadership in unrigging the broken system in Washington. ECU and LAV President Tiffany Muller joined the Speaker for numerous events and press conferences to discuss the need to pass critical reform legislation, like the For the People Act (H.R. 1). Pelosi’s leadership was instrumental in the passage of H.R. 1. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including over 20,900 in CA-12, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
