Malinowski rejects corporate PAC money and led the charge to pass the For the People Act, a once-in-a-generation reform bill
End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on Congressman Tom Malinowski’s win in NJ-07:
“Congratulations to Congressman Tom Malinowski on tonight’s well-deserved win. Tom’s grassroots campaign and his rejection of corporate PAC money once again proved to voters that he’s working on their behalf, not the corporate special interests. Congressman Malinowski has only served one term but he’s already changing the culture in Washington. We look forward to his leadership and continued advocacy.”
ECU and LAV endorsed Tom Malinowski in March 2019 because of his commitment to getting Big Money out of politics and fixing the rigged system in Washington. ECU had a total impact of over $319,800 on this race. That includes both raising and donating over $130,800 in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members this cycle to Malinowski’s campaign, and a $189,000 direct mail ad campaign. ECU hosted two virtual campaign events discussing his commitment to taking on the corruption in Washington and passing reforms to end the influence of Big Money and protect the right to vote. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including over 8,600 in NJ-07, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
