End Citizens United and Let America Vote Congratulate Wisconsin Assembly Democrats on Protecting Governor Tony Evers’ Redistricting Veto

Nov 05, 2020

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement to congratulate Wisconsin General Assembly Democrats on General Election victories, including protecting Governor Tony Evers’ redistricting veto:

“Congratulations to Wisconsin Democrats on General Election victories in the Wisconsin General Assembly. We need state-level reformers like them to keep fighting for an end to partisan gerrymandering and protecting the right to vote throughout Wisconsin. Members of the Wisconsin GOP have worked diligently to undermine and strip away protections for the right to vote, but these victories send a resounding message to Wisconsinites that Governor Tony Evers’ redistricting veto will be protected. Through their work to ensure fair maps, empower voters to cast their ballot, and stand up to Big Money in Madison, these new members of the Wisconsin General Assembly have promised to prioritize people over profits. We’re excited for them to join their Democratic colleagues in Madison in 2021 and work alongside them in the fight against government corruption.”

ECU and LAV endorsed sixteen General Assembly candidates because of their collective commitment to getting Big Money out of politics and fixing the rigged system in Madison so the government works for Wisconsinites. ECU had a total impact of more than $37,000 in Wisconsin in small dollar grassroots contributions from its members to candidates for the General Assembly. Fight for Reform (FFR), an affiliated project of ECU and LAV, focuses on bringing transparency and accountability to state and local elections around the country.
