End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on news that Jaime Harrison is advancing to the general election for U.S. Senate in South Carolina:
“Jaime Harrison has made fighting corruption and government reform a cornerstone of his campaign. Senator Lindsey Graham has done the bidding of corporate special interests throughout his career in Washington, while South Carolina gets left behind. Jaime will fight for affordable health care and prescription drugs, and end corrupt giveaways to corporate special interests. We’re proud to stand with Jaime Harrison heading into the general election.”
ECU and LAV endorsed Jaime Harrison in December 2019 because of his commitment to rooting out corruption in Washington. Harrison is running against Senator Lindsey Graham, who has received $2.6 million from Wall Street and more than $470,000 from the oil and gas industry over the course of his career. The reform group has four million members nationwide, including 32,000 in South Carolina, and is entirely grassroots-funded with an average donation of just $14.
