End Citizens United and Let America Vote Statement on 57th Anniversary of the March on Washington

Aug 28, 2020

End Citizens United and Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the 57th anniversary of the historic March on Washington:

“Today, in the wake of the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks and George Floyd and the shooting of Jacob Blake, thousands of Americans gathered at the Lincoln Memorial fifty-seven years after the first March on Washington. Today’s March is a call for all of us to redouble our efforts to fight systemic racism in America.

“Protests around our country in response to police brutality are forcing a recognition of the inequality that has persisted throughout the history of America. This is a moment where we must take action, including protecting the right to vote safely and securely, so that we live up to the great and lofty ideals of this nation.

“End Citizens United and Let America Vote commit to building a fairer, more just, and representative democracy for all. And we stand with the millions of Americans who are raising their voices once again with one simple message: Black Lives Matter.”
