End Citizens United and Let America Vote Statement on Democracy Ballot Victories in California and Oregon

Nov 05, 2020

End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on two crucial ballot initiative victories: Yes on Prop 17 in California and Yes on Measure 107 in Oregon:

“Congratulations to Yes on Prop 17 and Yes for Fair and Honest Elections on their respective voting rights and campaign finance reform wins. ECU, LAV and our members were proud to support these critical efforts to fight back against the blatant, hyper-partisan attempts to protect the power of political operatives and incumbents who are rigging the system rather than encouraging fair participation in our democracy that would ensure all voters’ voices are heard. Without these campaigns, politicians would continue to answer to corporate special interests who fund voter suppression efforts instead of the people they’re supposed to serve. Our democracy only works when it is fair and equitable, and we’re proud to have endorsed Yes on Prop 17 and Yes on Measure 107 to restore power back into the hands of Californians and Oregonians.”

ECU and LAV endorsed Yes on Prop 17 in September 2020 and Yes on Measure 107 in August 2020. Fight for Reform, the state level affiliate of LAV and ECU, focuses on defeating the influence of big money and defending the right to vote in states and localities around the country.
