End Citizens United (ECU) and Let America Vote (LAV) President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the organizations’ participation in Strike for Black Lives, a nation-wide “day of reckoning” to fight systemic racism and economic inequalities in the U.S. organized by labor, racial and social justice groups:
“Our country’s deep-rooted history of systemic racism and economic inequality are intrinsically linked, and these injustices are a direct result of our democracy’s failure to value Black lives. Fundamental changes in our workplaces, society and economy are long overdue and must be made now to build an America where Black Lives Matter. End Citizens United and Let America Vote stand with organizers across the country who are rising up and demanding change to dismantle racial and economic injustices.”
