End Citizens United (ECU) President Tiffany Muller issued the following statement in response to the jury’s verdicts in the Trump hush money trial:
“Today is a major victory for democracy, justice, and the rule of law. These guilty verdicts are an important step in the efforts to hold him accountable. It sends a powerful message that no one is above law––not even a former president. This case underscores the critical importance and necessity of strong campaign finance laws to protect the integrity of our elections. Donald Trump’s corruption has gone unchecked for too long, and he represents a continued threat to our democracy. Moving forward, we must continue to seek justice and accountability in every arena—including, and most importantly, at the ballot box.”
