End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller released the following statement applauding the introduction of the By The People reform package sponsored by Representative John Sarbanes (MD-03), Chair of the Democracy Reform Task Force and co-sponsored by 162 House members:
“The American people are tired of being left out of the conversation by Washington politicians who are bought and paid for by Big Money special interests. The By The Peopleresolution sends a message that Congress must take this problem head on and restore the voice of everyday Americans in our democracy. This bold set of reforms is the antidote we need to fight back against the rigged system and make our government work for all of us — not just the wealthy.
“End Citizens United thanks Congressman Sarbanes and the entire Democracy Reform Task Force for standing up to the special interests, and we will fight in support of these reforms.”
